ANGUS SCRIMGEOUR

President of the IADP, Chairman of Solar Products Limited, and a former Vice President of the World Bank Group who served as Chief Financial Officer of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency and a member of the Knowledge and Learning Council (1997-2002). Also, a former Deputy Chairman of Henry Cooke Group, and a Vice President of Citibank.

PROFESSOR BRIAN O’CONNELL

Rector of the University of Western Cape, and former Head of the Western Cape Education Department (1995-2001). He has chaired many community organizations, and served on many boards, committees and task teams, including NEPI, SAQA and NBFET. Also served as Chairperson of the National Access Consortium Western Cape (NACWC).

 

PROFESSOR ROBERT PICCIOTTO (appointed 23-May-08)

Professor, Kings College (London) served for forty years at the World Bank. His managerial assignments included Director-General Evaluation, and Vice President Corporate Planning and Budgeting. He is a member of the European Evaluation Society board and serves on the Independent Advisory Committee on Development Impact reporting to the UK International Development Secretary.

PIETER STEK

Member of the Advisory Commission on Development Cooperation of the Dutch Government, Director of the Center for Democracy and Reconciliation in SE Europe, and former Executive Director of the World Bank Group representing the Netherlands and eleven other countries (1996-2002). Also, served the Dutch central bank and Ministry of Finance, lastly as Director Foreign Financial Relations.

The IADP is currently in discussion with two prospective additional members of the Board of Trustees.

Former Board Members

Esther Lao (2004-2008): Former Principal Finance Officer of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (1989-2004). Also, a former senior officer of the World Bank finance administration departments.

Sir John Vereker (2004-2008): Former Governor and Commander in Chief of Bermuda (2002-2008), Member of the Advisory Council of the Center for Global Ethics, and Permanent Secretary UK Department for International Development (1994-2002).

B.P. Singh (2004-2008): Governor of Sikkim (2008- ).Former Executive Director of the World Bank Group representing India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka (1999-2002), Home Secretary of India (1997-1999), Culture Secretary of India (1995-1997).

Prof Kader Asmal (2005-2006): Former South African Minister of Education (1999 –2004), Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry (1994-1999), and Member of the ANC National Executive. Professor of Law at UWC, and visiting professor at Yale, Rutgers, and Cambridge.

Announcements
In late 2008 IADP began engagements with stakeholders in the Agriculture, Nursing, Medicine and Education Colleges of the University of Malawi to ascertain how e-Books and the creation of Open Education Resources might address critical textbook needs.  More information will follow as the project develops.
