Programs

The IADP currently has two Programs: the e-Book Program, and the Open Access Resources – OER Program. It is also developing a Language & Literacy Program.

Together, these Programs have the capacity to become the launching pad for a much larger initiative that could transform the quality and accessibility of education in developing countries, not only at tertiary level but, through teacher training, at primary and secondary level as well.

The Programs are of particular significance for students who live and work away from campus, but they are potentially of great value to all students and the communities they serve.

Announcements

During 2009 the University of Malawi (UNIMA) embarked on two exciting and innovative OER projects, one at the Kamuzu College of Nursing and the second at the Bunda College of Agriculture. These projects were co-funded by the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and facilitated jointly by SAIDE’s OER Africa Initiative and the International Association for Digital Publications (IADP). The initial project resources have been completed and together with insights to the process are now available on the OER Africa website.
