Devices

A major activity of the Program is the testing and evaluation of low-cost computers and eBook readers and ensuring that the devices have the necessary software to access the eBooks and communicate with lecturers. SAIDE has to date tested  the Mobilis, Intel Classmate, One Laptop Per Child – OLPC, ASUS EEE and Amazon’s eBook reader, the Kindle. Further support is offered including support in procuring devices and looking for appropriate funding arrangements for students.
