| The Affordable Access Program was launched on 3rd November 2006 at the University of the Western Cape. Angus Scrimgeour, President of the IADP introduced the Program, and addresses were given by the Honorable Minister of Education, Naledi Pandor, and by Professor Brian O'Connell, Rector of the University of the Western Cape. The International Association for Digital Publications (IADP) was established in the UK on March 29, 2004 as a not-for-profit organization, and it is registered with the charity Commission of England and Wales (No. 1104592). Its objectives are to advance education and thereby relieve poverty, especially in developing countries, by facilitating the introduction and use of digital publications, and by related means.
