During 2009 the University of Malawi (UNIMA) embarked on two exciting and innovative OER projects, one at the Kamuzu College of Nursing and the second at the Bunda College of Agriculture. These projects were co-funded by the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and facilitated jointly by SAIDE’s OER Africa Initiative and the International Association for Digital Publications (IADP). The initial project resources have been completed and together with insights to the process are now available on the OER Africa website.

IADP Supports Development of Teacher Training Open Education Resources

IADP and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) have supported the development of a Teacher Education Space on the website of SAIDE's OER Africa Initiative. The purpose of the Space is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of teacher education on the continent through an African led process  for sharing not only material as open educational  resources, but also expertise and experience in both initial and continuing professional development of teachers. To date the resources, which include audio and video clips, as well as the written guides and readings, that have been added to the website are Learners and Learning and Being a Teacher,  both from SAIDE's Teacher Education Series.
